wow i actually got luna done quicker than i thought i would!! I actually have a couple WIPs from months ago of luna designs that never got to see the light of day so i had a bit more inspiration to work with!  
my celestia design was very unicorn like, a tall stature and long locks of fur around the hooves, but i wanted luna to look completely opposite, so she is far more pegasus like, therefore much shorter and doused in feathers. also i mean,,,,i couldn’t resist making luna a batpony it’s too fitting jsks i think her more sharp features like the bat wings and fangs would be another factor as to why she feels so distant from her equestrian citizens. even so she is gentle and slow moving, and her magically charged hair feels cool as opposed to celestia’s warm hair, like how the air feels before it rains, which makes ponies who come near her very sleepy haha  
also her day time hair isn’t much too different in color, but it definitely LOOKS much different. i think she prefers her mane and tail short, but she cant rlly help what it does when it’s magically flowing, as it’s just a way her body outputs her energy. so when her duties are done for the day she can finally get rid of all that flashy hair lol  
i just put a ton of effort into making her mane and tail cause well, idk not only is she the princess of the moon but ALSO of dreams n stuff, so she has a LOT of power  
buuut yeah, I REALLY love how she turned out! in fact i love how both sisters look, and i rlly love how they look like exact opposites haha, i can’t wait to continue making these lil redesigns, they’re lots of fun and are extremely relaxing ^^
