Name: LionheartNicknames: Leo, Arty (he’s not super fond of either one but doesn’t mind)Parents: Donut Joe, ApplejackAge: 19Body/Appearance:
Lionheart is very tall for a regular pony (he’s nearly as tall as Big Mac.) He has pretty toned muscles from years of farm and shop work, but sometimes underestimates his strength. He keeps his mane and tail pretty short so that they’re manageable and don’t get in the way. On his left flank, he has a scar left from a dragon’s claws. It’s nearly right where his cutie mark is, so the areas where the scar goes through the cutie mark, it’s slightly discolored. (Flank is shown without the cutie mark to better see the scars.)Personality:
Lionheart is very much a workaholic and perfectionist. He can’t stand the feeling of having nothing to do and will often find things for himself to do if he’s already done his assigned work for the day. It’s extremely difficult to frighten or phase him, so much so that his friends have pretty much given up entirely in trying to do so.
Though Lionheart isn’t very talkative, he’s extremely courageous. He stands up for any pony who is being wronged, and won’t hesitate to confront any pony who is being a jerk, because he has a very low tolerance for bad behavior. He would be the first to rescue any pony in danger. It takes a lot to bother Lionheart, as he’s generally very laid-back and patient, but if he’s annoyed, you may notice a sarcastic tone in his voice. If he’s angry (which usually never happens), you will regret whatever you did to piss him off.Relationships:
Both Applejack and Joe are very proud of their son. He works on the farm and in his dad’s shop, and does nearly anything they ask him to. Because of him being very responsible and mature, they have a lot of trust in him and let him do nearly anything he wants (and he hardly asks for anything or does much outside of work except hang out with his friends.) They do tell him that he can take a day off and doesn’t have to work as much as he does, but Lionheart says it’s what he enjoys, so they don’t bug him about it, but they’re a little worried that he’s too involved in the jobs they’ve given him to think for his own what he wants to do with his future.
It’s hard for his friends to get Lionheart to do something not work-related, but they usually have moderate success in doing so. He doesn’t always enjoy what they drag him along to do, but it amuses him to see his buddies having fun and when they get themselves in trouble and need his help.
Though Lionheart doesn’t have siblings, he feels like he does, because of all the time he spends with his 5 cousins. He gets along best with Oasis, as they are closest in age, and Honeycomb, as he is very quiet and complacent, but Ambrosia, Evelina, and Apple Blintz can wear him out.
Lionheart hadn’t really thought about mares at all, until he laid eyes on Orizzonte. Never had he seen a pony with such self-confidence, strength, spunk, command over others, beauty… All his friends know about his crush, and strangely Valerian actually finds it really funny that Lionheart is smitten over his cousin (Valerian hardly finds anything funny.) Orizzonte is aware of it herself, but Lionheart tries to hide it, and Orizzonte teases him so much it’s almost cruel. She does find him attractive, but she’s playing hard-to-get. Gosh dangit, Ori.Abilities/Talents/Cutie Mark:
Lionheart is strong physically, but he’s also very disciplined mentally. Ever since he was a foal, he showed prowess in his ability to accomplish things and deal with others. However, he had an adventurous streak which is pretty much entirely gone now that he is an adult. There was one night when he was a colt that he and his dog Jessie went on an adventure, and by some misfortune, ran into a group of relatively young dragons. All but one, named Sienna, wanted to attack. She said that he was just a colt and he was lost, so they should move on, but they moved to attack Jessie and Lionheart bravely protected her, getting clawed in the flank. Despite being hurt, he kicked the dragon in the face in self-defense. Sienna drove away the other two, turning on her own kind, as she felt it was wrong to attack a colt, and they banished her. Following Jessie, she helped Lionheart back to the farm, and she was greatly thanked (and later met Spike.)
Lionheart got his cutie mark from this event, as he realized his ability to stay focused and calm in the face of great peril. The apple with the core shining through represents both his heritage and inner strength, and the scars near and on it remind him of his courage as well.
