You two created some of the greatest characters of all time and played a major role in my childhood, or filyhood I should say and you will be forever missed by billions of people around the world and by me and my friends from Equestria. Even a creator of a long-running cartoon or comics empire has to go…Stephen had ALS for a year and a half, and Stan had respiratory failure… Stephen was 57, Stan was 95. Stephen was almost 40 years younger than Stan. Stan got into comics when he was 17, Stephen got into animation when he was still working as a marine biologist. Stan created Spider-Man, the Hulk, the X-Men, assembled the Avengers and appeared about 90% of the Marvel films. Stephen created SpongeBob SquarePants, a creator that has put millions of smiles to children and adult’s faces alike since 1999, and even with the show having a recessive period managed to be better now than it did between the first and second theatrical movies. He worked on the show until the very end…even giving us the highly praised SpongeBob musical…Stan Lee had been a producer and cameo on every Marvel-related movie until like Avengers 4. We’re still waiting for his final appearance on film. Both men are still my heroes and they will continue to inspire generations of artists like myself and their creations are already immortal icons recognized and loved by all. Yes, I know it has been 2 months since Lee’s death and a month and a half since Hillenburg’s death but it still feels like yesterday when I heard the devastating news.
