Description

Name: Candy Swirl
Age: 16
Birthday: December 22
Parents: Pinkie Pie and Cheese Sandwich
Sibling(s): Cocoa Bean, Frosting Blast, Balloon Blast, Violet Rosebud, Milkshake Mocha, Pebblestone Pie and Disco Ball
Occupation: A baker at Sugar Cube Corner and a Sophomore at Ponyville High
Personality: Candy Swirl loves to help Pinkie Pie with baking the most out of all 8 kids. Due to her cheerful, outgoing, never give up spirit and her will to bake, she was named in honor of Chiffon Swirl (Mrs. Cake), who passed away sadly when she was about to take a train to Manehattan, but got ran over due to one pony’s recklessness.
Like her mother, Candy Swirl is a very happy go lucky spirit, however, sometimes she can take her curiosity a bit too far similar to Turbid Treetop. That’s one of many reasons why Spirit Rose considers the two fairly alike. Though unlike Turbid, Candy Swirl is more open minded and is willing to be more empathetic towards others. Despite trying her best at listening to others’ state of mind unlike her super reckless days as a child, Candy Swirl is still very outgoing, crazy, and tries to laugh, love, and make the most of life while she’s still here.
Candy Swirl is usually seen helping out other ponies as well as giving depressed ponies candy or other sweets to try to cheer them up. Her wild personality, outgoing, and hard-working spirit give ponies more faith in their own kind. Candy often than not also enjoys cracking puny jokes to purposely get on her siblings’ nerves, however, she’s still always there to help them whenever they’re feeling down.
Although Candy Swirl is usually a sweet and adventurous pony, she can still be fairly picky, but mainly when it comes to healthy foods. Candy mainly likes to eat sweets, yet she tries her best to keep up with her daily exercise routines to try to make up for that.
Relationships: Her relationship with Pinkie Pie mainly consists of baking, partying, and more partying. Despite Candy Swirl’s past mishaps, Pinkie Pie easily forgave her. Personality-wise as well, the two are very similar and can relate and grow together on a daily basis. That being said, the two get along very well and love one another very dearly.
Her relationship with her father is just about as loving as her’s and Pinkie’s. Unlike Pinkie Pie, Cheese Sandwich was more harsh about Candy Swirl’s reckless past incidents, but he had good intentions behind it. He never wanted to hurt his daughter, he just wanted to her to grow and he wanted to know for sure that she had learned her lesson each time. Despite that, however, the two are very close and love each other dearly. Although Cheese Sandwich had been slightly harsher about Candy’s recklessness as a child, she really can’t choose which parent she loves more. Even if Cheese is more serious and levelheaded than Pinkie Pie, he is still very young at heart and loves baking and partying just about as much as his daughter and his wife. That’s what makes their bond stronger still to this day.
Candy’s relation with her eldest sibling, Disco Ball, on the other hoof still needs work. Although Candy didn’t know about her brother’s whereabouts all the time, she was always mad that he left the house without reason. Candy Swirl still values loyalty just as much as she values laughter. Though she understands he always says he’s busy with making new music for ponies, she isn’t all that fond of his stubbornness and what sound like dumb excuses. When you’re family, you need to make time as Pinkie Pie says. She lives by that saying.
Candy’s relation with Milkshake Mocha is probably the closest on this list. Even if she does love her parents dearly, she’s usually seen hanging around her brother the most. They hang around one another so much sometimes ponies even mistake the two as being twins! Milkshake and Candy always like to go out and about and troll other ponies as well as their own family. In the end, they promise not to scare anypony too badly and hope to hear some laughs with each prank they pull. Another guilty pleasure the two have aside from constantly going on pranking sprees would be secretly stalking their sister, Violet Rosebud, and her boyfriend best friend, Arctic Gust. Besides baking along side one another, partying, and pranking, the two love to get on their little sister’s nerves about her and Arctic’s relationship especially.
Despite Candy Swirl loving Violet Rosebud to pieces and even embarrassing her a bit just for the fun of it all, Violet Rosebud isn’t very sure what to feel about her sister. Sure, she loves her, but Candy Swirl really can get on Violet’s nerves quite a bit and she doesn’t like it one bit. Violet although outgoing too also prefers a more peaceful environment as well and can often get startled easily by her older sister’s antics. Even if this is so, Candy Swirl is much smarter than Milkshake Mocha is and is willing to give her sister a bit of her own space since Candy also tries her best to keep in mind despite all her constant teasing and trolling that Violet views this in a whole different light and she has to respect it unfortunately even if it means less fun for her and Milkshake.
Candy’s relation with the twins although fun-loving isn’t quite as strong as it is with her parents or Milkshake. Candy also babysits her sisters and a few other ponies as her part time job since she IS 16 and aside from working at Sugarcube Corner full time, she really wants more hours on her resume especially for College. Despite this Candy tries her best to stay a child at heart. Though both relations are fun loving and not all too flawed, Candy tends to favor Frosting just a teeny bit more, but only because they both share the same love for baking and despite trying her best to squeeze in some daily exercising, Candy Swirl has never really been too interested in the likes of athletics like Balloon Blast is.
Candy Swirl’s relation with Cocoa Bean is just about as fun-loving as it is with the twins. Since Cocoa is a bad boy at heart, he’ll often tag along with her and Milkshake Mocha on their pranking sprees. Although Cocoa does tend to laugh in ponies’ faces about quite a few of the pranks, Candy Swirl tries to the best of her ability to help Cocoa act at least a bit nicer about it since she still wants ponies to like her (and him as well) and doesn’t necessarily want him to laugh AT them, but WITH them. It sometimes can take a bit to convince him to do so and Candy Swirl doesn’t necessarily like how mean Cocoa can be sometimes (especially with Pebblestone), yet she still tries her best to find the best qualities in her brother and in every pony in fact, which is why the two still have a strong bond to this day. What Candy likes the best about him, however, is his love for parties, mystery, action, tagging along with some of their pranks, and his sense of humor.
Alongside Candy’s relation with Disco Ball, this is probably one of the lowest on the list. At first, Candy never really got quiet ponies or got their intentions. Even if Candy tries her best to be more of an open minded pony (especially since she was a reckless pony as a child), it’s still fairly hard for her to read her little sister. However, after she started hanging around Spirit Rose (daughter of Discord and Fluttershy), and snooping around in the hybrid’s bedroom, she found out why and tried a bit harder to not only bond with, but to physically get Pebblestone’s own point of view. Pebblestone although startled of her sister like she is with most siblings at first was glad she found another side of her that wasn’t there before. The more Candy had hung around Spirit Rose the more she began to get Pebblestone a bit more.
The final relation I’m going to mention here is her relation with Spirit Rose. She’d always seen her sulking around miserably and sometimes even very angrily at Ponyville High and always wondered why Spirit Rose acted the way she did, sometimes even without a single emotion to show. Like Pebblestone, she always found her hard to read. So one day, out of pure boredom and curiosity, Candy Swirl decided she’d pay Spirit Rose’s parents a visit and check out her room a bit. When she looked inside Rose’s book of poems and talked to Discord a bit about her social and anxiety issues, she began to understand introverted ponies a bit more and even began to develop something for Spirit Rose that she’d felt with no other friend. It felt weird and she was in denial at first, but for some reason, despite their bitter opposite personalities, she felt something for her. Something special. Whether they’d only be good friends or possibly become more, Candy knew she had to make Rose like her in some way. She couldn’t give up. She just hoped Rose wouldn’t be so neutral about her for all her life, because she felt something for her alright. Especially that day.
Cutie mark: Basically, a bowl filled with candy because of how sweet, yet hyper she can be. Full cutie mark here
