“The Red Queens Demure” - by Anonymous

A gem from the forefront of the red plague epidemic which encapsulated the world with which few people were able to escape from, especially those with exceedingly prevalent artistic abilities. Some have claimed the author behind such a work as this, but none have yet to truly unmask “The Unknown.”

The reason some such artists illustrating a radical figure such as “The Red Queen” kept their identities scarce was to avoid confrontation by activists in opposition to the “Scarlet Empire,” and further more to ensure the image of the artist in question not be affected in any negative way. Many artists have gone on to model works after the Infamous character “Scarlet Rose”; however, this one stands out above the rest due to its questionable origins and commentary presented in the form of a personal journal with which the author documented his thoughts. An excerpt of said journal proceeds as follows:

“I have yet to encounter what the guards have referred to as a “Shy, demure” which is utterly redundant in and of itself, but they are merely guards after all. She was otherwise documented as being quite reserved, but this is very much the contrary in how she approaches me in private. Her eyes shift into a state of euphoria, and her smile emerges almost menacingly… In fact as I write this she toys relentlessly, using only her words and gaze to lead my mind astray, not even making an effort to venture from her nightly quarters. I feel like I’m part of some kind of sick game, teetering on the edge of lust, and a very lucrative commission; by god if by the end of the night I don’t end up receiving the both of them, for they are both very enticing and at this point I have no strength to choose either or… My arms work tirelessly to achieve her likeness but I often find myself adding more and more, likely due to her mains frivolous dance; one two three four, one two three four. Like a waltz of flames… No matter, I have nearly achieved perfection, and am awaiting my reward. Soon I shall summon her miss over to admire my work, and receive my compensation in full; though, I feel she may receive something in equal of proportion.”
