There’s so much fucking spam that this site isn’t fun anymore, it’s work. It’s unpaid work reporting spam every other day, having to reload pages, going through the bullshit DDOS filter that filters buttfuck nothing, constantly getting 503 errors, not seeing any new pictures for days on end.

And it’s not a “we just need to hire more mods” situation. You can make everyone on the whole goddamn site a mod and it still wouldn’t be enough because there’s only like 6 active users anyway.

I’ve been on the Internet 26 years now and this is the most dysfunctional site I’ve ever seen. Things around here function as the exception not the rule.

Just require every fucking user to register before being allowed to post.

Did this site ever advertise or promote?

You’d think we would get some new activity besides spambots and political fighters from Derpi…

they tried, derpiboru censored them out/banned any accounts trying to promote this site, it was a shit show of drama.

idk the specifics on this but derpiboru basically treated ponyboru as “competition” which is ironic since most image sites like this exist as image archives that benefit the most by sharing with one another. But since this site allows Lolicon and they don’t, this has lead to those who can see the difference between reality and fantasy coming over here and sticking around and those who(at least in my point of view) need to seek mental help because they view a bunch of pixels on screen as “real” staying on derpiboru which ironically deals with its own share of “beastality” drama on regular occasion.

Yeah, but thats pretty normal for any site to not let others advertise a similar one on its forums. Private servers for games often have the same rules; doesnt make sense to let others come in and try and take your users, regardless of the differences. I dont think Ponybooru was victimized here.

Considering Pony relies on a constantly breaking importer bot that scrapes from Derpi it is a miracle anything functions here. I mean, why come here when there’s a more stable site with a larger user base with the exact same content?

And besides, most users are okay with the rules there somehow. They’ll rather at best, move to twibooru due to them allowing more anything. They don’t need engagement, just a place to post. While twibooru is the absolute, definitive archive.

I honestly like this site for being Derpibooru, but more lax with rules.
It’s a shame there isn’t much engagement, but hey, you take what you can get.

so um, idk if you guys are aware, the server own tripped over the server power cords or what but aside from the forums, your ENTIRE IMAGE SITE is currently down with an error 500.
