Whatever her full name is, it might be a good idea to make “OC: Athena” imply “OC: Athena (Shawn Kellr)” or whatever you ultimately settle on. I actually came here to suggest as much. I’d have never figured out the latter tag on my own.

And then there’s the E621 option: “athena (gop)”…

I kind of agree with OC:[name] ([creator/fanfic/whatever]) tags implying the generic OC:[name] tag if there are multiple OCs with the same name.

That is what the descriptions are for. And practically, owning the creations (and ability to lobby to extend copyright length after owner’s death) is what resulted in the mouse’s hegemony, plus all pony content is technically owned by Hasbro.

So, what’s your solution, then? Arbitrarily assign new names to OCs if someone else claimed the name first, or just have them all under the same oc:[name] tag?

It was already aliased with zaponidonia and shawn versions. Unaliased at this moment, though.

Which is actually the option taken with a lot of other characters, so it should be the option taken with Athena. She’s not a MLP OC, she’s a separate character who happens to look very similar to FiM ponies, and so shouldn’t be in oc: namespace at all.

When I hear the name “Athena” (or any other OC) I don’t automatically append the name of the creator when searching for her. Especially when I don’t know it. Hence why I thought the more general “Athena” should imply the longer tag. And there’s already multiple OCs with that name anyway, so it’s not like it’s a very specific character tag to begin with.

But that’s why you have it backwards: oc:athena implying this particular Athena’s tag would add the Pondonian Athena’s tag to, for example, this pony.

There should be a kissing on the lips/mouth tag cause there’s kissing cheek, mouth, penis, vulva, butt, head and belly tag. No wait, should be added to kissing tag, it’s kissing but what I said above this sentence.

Aliases are for merging synonymous tags, yes.  
Not really applicable in Athena’s case, except maybe making the specific tag an alias for the generic one.
