Just nobody important.
@Zajice
I feel near the same.

After thinking about it I like Nips OC.

However, Mare-do-well I’m not fond of. Tempest though? Big time.

Don’t get me wrong, I recognise that she has the majority support for some reason, and if one should be picked right now it would probably be her. But I disagree for a couple of reasons:
  1. I don’t really like the color. Maybe I’m the odd one out, but zizzy said this theme is temporary and was literally thrown together in a few moments just to have different branding, and I’ll be quite happy when he puts in more work for an actual theme.
  2. There’s no real connection to the floppy disc theme. The idea is an archival pone, right? But she’s literally just a purple pone with a floppy disc cutie mark slapped on her butt. That’s another complaint with the color, it’s not computer-y or archivey or floppy-ey. And neither is anything else about her design. She’s literally just a cute pone, and I absolutely don’t deny that she’s cute with her glasses and all, but otherwise there’s nothing mascot-y about her.

    It doesn’t have to be a robopone (though I do like some of the earlier designs). But I think the design should at least somewhat be related to the concept of an archive pone. Maybe I’m just missing some symbolism?

Referencing archival in the OC design could take the form of various nods to resistance to previous censorship/slander pushes and putting bits in that reference other cases around that starting point, like having the floppy disk have a title bit referencing some 70s-90s case. Maybe Discord or something in classic Doom or Diablo text, to poke at the Satanic Panic as a whole, and in Doom’s case it could have a 1/3 to refer to the shareware version.

I’m also partial to the robo-pony thing, though in fitting with the retro aesthetic I’d suggest an animatronic core appearance, in the sense of all the joints being seams, with some exposed wires spliced to more advanced-looking robotics at puppet string points for some of the body parts (lower legs, maybe go for a pinto look with it covering some of the face and back). Possibly have those animatronics be mostly Nips’ robo-pony design to nod at the design process itself, with the “stocking” look kept for the mid-leg joints or neck and torso.

mod here

There has been talk of having a discord server amongst the Admin and Mod team, however; it is still only under consideration. We have not confirmed whether or not an official discord will be supported at this time.

There does seem to be some push back from the community on this topic and their opinions are under consideration as well.

If it’s an archival theme we’re going for, why not a librarian pone? While a roboponer is all well and good, an organic “show style” librarian pone would be cuter to a wider audience. We could name her something like “Archive File” or “Archy” for short, and give her a cute bowtie and a file cutie mark.

Whatever we go with I feel it shouldn’t be just a normal cute pone. As others have said the idea of her being a librarian is something I’m a fan of, both because glasses are cute as fuck and because Twilight was always the main character of the show (and this site happens to be her favourite colour hint hint). How to incorporate the floppy disk into that idea is something that still needs testing, though.
