I want to take this moment to clarify the purpose of the Derpibooru post traumatic stress disorder relief thread.
This thread is the exception to the rule rather than the rule, seeing as many of our users have accumulated here as a direct result of the actions and decisions made by the staff of derpibooru. The thread acts as a public forum for venting frustration many of the users have had with the derpibooru staff and its short comings in policy and action. It isnt and won’t be a place to air dirty laundry and private messages, that otherwise would be kept private.
That being said, our staff is aware of the derpibooru mod chat leaks that have proliferated across various platforms here on the internet. At this point it would be unrealistic to expect these logs to remain private and confidential, in a sense, they rest in a grey area between private and public domain. We will not permit users to link or post these chat logs in their entirety, however; segments or excerpts that directly relate to the on going conversation may be tolerated, depending on the sensitivity of the information. PII (personally identifiable information) like full names, email addresses, ip addresses, and other information that should normally be controlled between a user and a consenting party will not be allowed to be posted. Additionally, any private message that isnt the chat leak, should be considered private, regardless of the sensitivity and falls under rule 9. We are a community of personal opinions and free speech, but all users of this site and others deserve a reasonable expectation of privacy.
This statement isnt directed at any one individual but should act as clarification on policy for a very unique thread and overall circumstances. A copy of this will also be posted in
the thread.
