Mandatory Login to Upload Hurting Site

Hello, I personally have not been uploading anything to Ponybooru since the implementation of the mandatory login to upload. I have also noticed increasing gaps of images uploaded between Twibooru/Ponerpics and Ponybooru which is likely caused by this. I believe this measure is driving traffic and image uploads away from Ponybooru. It has certainly driven me to use Twibooru instead. Without a proper Twibooru/Ponerpics import bot, the gap in images will only continue to grow and Ponybooru will continue to fall behind. To fix this one of two solutions, but preferably both should be taken. 1. Allow anonymous image uploads to preserve userbase. 2. Create a proper import script that runs daily that imports images from twibooru and or ponerpics. Ponybooru was my favorite booru after the fall of Derpi, but after the unpopular changes it is quickly loosing relevance. There is nothing Ponybooru offers that isn’t filled by other boorus, and nothing seems to be done to fix the issues.

The ban on unregistered users being able to upload hasn’t made me sign up, I’ve just been uploading to twibooru instead when I find something that can’t be uploaded to derpibooru, figuring maybe at some point the things I upload there will make it here, a lot of them still haven’t.
 
As for solutions, bear in mind the ban was meant to thwart the efforts of one deranged person who’d been uploading irl child porn to the boorus, unless derpi’s queue system has finally convinced them to stop (derpibooru having been their primary target) removing the restriction could let them come back. I don’t know how active the mods really are here, every report seems to be addressed with a great amount of lethargy (not a complaint, just an observation) meaning the site could be stuck with literal criminal content on it’s front page for hours before it’s removed.
 
Staff has jossed this suggestion before, but I would be fine with it if they just implemented the same queue system here. The aforementioned lethargy would likely mean uploads would only be allowed through once or twice a day, but that would still be one to two times more often then they’re currently being let through.

The ban of unregistered users is worth discussing. But I would say create the Twibooru/Ponerpics import bot would be a good idea.

The fact that the ones using import bots don’t already have a registered account is an absurd idea to begin with. Accounts like that should’ve done so from day one, then asked staff to specifically exempt them from the limiters. Alongside with the obvious agreement that it’ll strictly be used for ONLY that purpose.

This deserves being revisited. After 12 months of continuous Twibooru usage, I can say with certainty that I’ve never once seen anything illegal on their front page. Their mod log also seems very light on any illegal content removals. I think it’s time to allow anonymous posting back on this booru.

I’m just curious as to why there’s such a desire for anonymous uploading. One can simply upload as anonymous after logging in. So where’s the fire?
