That certainly would have been helpful back on the other booru when threads were getting shut down because they “already had a thread for that”. Would have been nice to have for the DNP list, too.

They actually did have a better search system in the past, before switching to Philomena. One that was not half as buggy. And then they got rid of it.

Ironically, the one alt booru that’s using the old booru-on-rails code that would have that old forum search system is the same alt booru that barely has a forum by design. Hi Twibooru!

Ever since the move to Philomena (or earlier, I forget when) it stopped displaying the alt-text. You can still put in the quoted text, it just won’t do anything.

Back in the ancient days of Booru-On-Rails, you used to be able to put
="$Name" into a block-quote as follows: This block-quote starts with\[bq="Evan"\]and ends with\[/bq\]
And when one hovered their mouse over the quote, whatever was inside of the quotes got displayed as some alt-text.

Images having a creation date that they could be sorted by in addition to their upload date would be a nice addition. Albeit with this many images it’d be a monumental task to go through every source to find the correct date.

- The ability to tie OC/fan-made-content tags to profiles in a similar way to one would artist tags.
Could be a bit funky when it comes to multi-creator things (and wouldn’t really be applicable to content tags like art packs) but it’d be neat to know how many people follow one’s character, for example.
- Sets of saved tags on the upload page.
Simply put, the ability to have multiple different sets of tags saved for one’s common uploads. For example, I have a set saved for ally Daily Bugs. Being able to save another set would allow me to have a lot of tags on hand that are applicable to a lot of my other works, and save me the hassle of having to either type them all out again, or go to a similar image to copy/paste the tags.
- Additionally, the ability to view saved tags on the upload page without actually adding them.
This would go in hand with the previous suggestion: One would be able to view what tags they have saved, without applying them to the image they’re uploading, or obliterating whatever they may happen to already have in the tag field.

When an image is spoilered on the forum, it just says “This image is tagged <<one random tag here>>, which is hidden by your current filter.” There doesn’t seem to be a way to see complete list of tags without unspoilering the image first.

On pc if you hover your cursor over the image then it will display the tags for you, though this doesn’t work when browsing on mobile unfortunately.

I was wondering if it would be possible to scrape the upload dates from derpibooru into ponybooru?
As more often than not I find myself going back to derpibooru just to look at the comics or blogs there. As they are mostly in order.
For a quick example see here:

This specific comic/tumblr doesn’t have an ordered comic tag in it. But because of the pics being uploaded as they were made. They are still mostly in the correct order, and are thus easy to read on derpibooru. The ones on here are a struggle to deal with. Same goes for many other comics on here. They are completely scrambled around. The first image might be on page 3, and the next on 8. This becomes tiresome to deal with after a while.
