When trying to edit >>16’s tags, the changes never save. At first I thought the tags were locked, but then I recently learned that locked tags are supposed to leave a “You can’t edit the tags for this upload” message when you first try to edit locked tags.
 
Related: it seems that not even the site’s own AI can save its own changes to the tags for this image, given that the aliased tags on the image (specifically; the character names) never automatically changed to what they should be.

this is unusual, I’ll look into it and see if I can figure out whats going on.

I removed the associated aliases and then reinstated them, this seems to have solved the issue.
