As a genuine hypothesized alien I can tell you it depends very much on the game. Doom kicks fucking ass. Silent Hill is pretty cool.

Horror games to us: “Inform me, hyumawn. Why does this ‘Monika’ create in you the ‘e-mo-shun’ which you know as ‘feer’? Being spoken to directly by a ‘com-pyu-torr’ is commonplace. ‘Com-for-ting’, is this truthful?”
 
Horror games to them: “You claim the monster ceases many lives and then ‘forn-ic-ates’ with one not of their same species? Truly, a creature of ‘night-mayrs’ is this ‘Com-an-durr Shepard’.”
