Lol. I skimmed the comments and found a black guy whose sentiments were close to mine,you don’t go to Thor expecting Thor to be black.
Also the orcs were supposed to be cursed elves or something, weren’t they? And the Elves we’re mostly white from what I remember…oh,wait,that was the movie,How do we know not everyone in the book wasn’t intended to be black or whatever ethnicity.

There were a lot of words like “fair”, which generally means very pale white. Which makes sense when they were directly based on Scandinavian elves who were described the same way.
Middle Earth was a small area of land by modern standards, so it would make no sense to expect vast different collections of races there.
