Guarantee you they considered it. Either it was too much work to rewrite the game for it or they just realized that they need to secure every ounce of good will they can right now. I could believe either (and I wouldn’t put it past them to “update” the game down the road to patch it in).
 
That said, apparently they sent their sensitivity censors through it. I hear they changed the Amazon’s outfit, among other things.

Well… a remake of ActRaiser was most certainly not expected, but I damned well hope it’s good. Immediate wishlisted for monitoring. I envision sleepless nights micromanaging bridge placement in my semi-near future.

Ya, that they did. The Amazon’s butt cheeks aren’t hanging out anymore and the palidin has bigger lips and flaired nostrils. They can’t be happy with black characters unless they look stereotypical. Racists.

No one looks good in the remake. Plus all the censorship of removing corpses and covering statues for no other reason that giving the censors of yester year what they want.

I gotta try to find the CD keys for my old physical copy. I didn’t throw them away but fuck if I know where they got to over the course of moving house twice.

Does the RE 2 remake use the same sound effect for head explosions as Conker’s Bad Fur Day? I was watching a no damage run earlier, and it sounded really familiar.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they somehow made those keys obsolete. When Overwatch 2 was announced, there was rumors OW1 would be locked until the purchase of OW2 was on the accounts. I don’t remember where I heard that it was years ago, while a tone of idiots were praising them for making this or that character gay or trying to squeeze them under some other flags of segregation.

You can’t obsolete keys used to validate offline copy installed from disk without installing extra code to make it reject that, and that is solvable by blocking the update servers and creating a system backup.

I’m sure they would if they could. Fuck you over the first time you sign into battlenet with it. Of course then all you’d have to do is uninstall & reinstall.

Can write extra info that fucks you over later (same way timed-trial programs do their stuff), hence “system backup”.  

Oh, I can guarantee that if you try signing with battlenet with it, your install will (eventually) get wiped and “remaster” downloaded instead, same as WC3 Frozen Throne.

Fortunately I’d never go onto Battlenet. Even if I wanted to play any of those games multiplayer (I wouldn’t), I’ve never heard anything positive about the players on there. For 20 years I’ve heard nothing but stories of hackers, scammers and people who’ve played 72 hours a week every week for five years & live only to fuck over other players.

Anyone excited or nervous about the Knights of the Old Republic remake? They keep saying it’ll be faithful, but the way they repeatedly stress “modern audiences” when discussing the changes they’ll make has me withholding hype.

You mean the “re-imagining”? Yeah, it’s gonna be shit. No question. They have a beloved but unfinished trilogy on their hands, and after 20 years of people begging for a finale the message they received was “start over but hire someone who didn’t like the games and generally hates the fans to rewrite it”. What part of that leaves you even remotely unsure of where it’s headed?
 
These people promise faithfulness every time. They deliver on that promise precisely never. It means nothing in their mouth.
 
Not to mention that they will NEVER find anyone capable of matching Kestelman’s performance as Kreia.

The fact that I don’t know anything about the project lead or who they are is a big factor. I don’t know who these people are.

Nobody does, in a way. It’s Aspyr Media; they’re only known for porting games to other platforms or for touching up existing games (they did the KotOR2 touch up that fixed numerous bugs and gave it achievements). In April, they were bought by “Embracer Group” - the holding company that owns numerous game industry companies including (but not limited to) Gearbox and Deep Silver (via Koch Media). I wouldn’t be shocked if this release was influenced by that purchase, but if it’s Aspyr’s original team I hesitate to believe that they have the chops for this level of redevelopment.

Never thought a day would come where I would enjoy team slayer more than big team battle in Halo.
