I know, but given how bad the economy is now, and the fact that it’s going to get much worse in the future, nonchalantly telling people to just DO something that’s going to cost way more time and money than it would have a few decades ago is starting to become a pretty big pet peeve of mine.

Well, a good way to begin is getting a job (assuming you don’t have one already) and saving up money while you still live with your parents.  
Yes, I know that job hunting is difficult thanks to the Covid, but some areas like supermarkets, security and food industry are still hiring so that’s a start.

I apologize. I admit, I got triggered. I was doing fine till this whole SCAMdemic started and I got layed off. Now I’m spending quality mom and dad time until the world goes back to normal.

Add to that people (usually youtubers who got rich off donations yet consider themselves “self-made” and not very successful bums) who suggest that to fix the problem we need less worker protection and to give multinational corporations more freedom to fire American workers and replace them with foreigners on visas, offshore their money so they pay no taxes, and move more factories to other countries.
