When Nero’s wife Poppaea died, he married a femboy named Sporus and pretended that Sporus was Poppaea.
When Nero was killed, one of the co-conspirators, Nymphidius, also took Sporus as
his wife and pretended that Sporus was Poppaea.
When Nymphidius was killed, Otho, (who had been married to Poppaea before Nero took her away,) also started a relationship with Sporus (the femboy pretending to be Poppaea).
After Otho killed himself, his rival Vitellius planned to put an end to this farce by killing Sporus in a gladiator game re-enacting ‘The Rape of Prosperina,’ so Sporus killed himself to prevent that.
Poor Sporus.
