I hope Primitive War turns out good. Somehow, it makes the Jurassic World conceit of dinosaurs in war look not lame, which a Jurassic War movie certainly would be.

Taika Waititi is doing a Judge Dredd reboot. I can think of a few people I’d like to do it less, but not too many.

It’s just about two months until the next Avatar movie releases. We’ll see if it’s the first movie for a third time, or if James Cameron learned to tell a second story in the franchise.

I’m still wondering if the fourth movie is supposed to be the earth or air iteration.
You could go either way with the first movie.

It’s been a month since Adult Swim released the trailer for the third season of Genndy Tartakovsky’s PRIMAL, and I still can’t wait for January 2026. Man, what a crazy twist. After the first two seasons, I expected anything but a zombie Spear, how fucking cool.

Cool. He’s getting up there in the years so I’m worried he might not handle something as action centric as the previous ones.

The NCU might be back on the table. Nintendo has teased projects beyond the next Mario and Zelda films. Nintendo’s own studio, Nintendo Pictures, will be making some of the films going forward.

Avatar 3 Thursday previews will be starting tomorrow. Think this one will pull $2B again?

The user reviews for Stranger Things season 5 sound bad. Apparently, the show did something that caused a rift in the viewer base.

One of the characters had a coming out scene. It was established in like S4 he was gay, but he didn’t admit it until the last scene of the last episode before the series finale.

The scene itself was emotional but kinda heavy handed. And it was compounded with it doing the usual Stranger Things where like 12 or so characters are in the shot but with only 1 mattering, once again bringing to mind how bloated the cast is despite how little many of them have a purpose.

It was more or less a good character moment shoved into a bad scene at a not great time.

Avatar: Fire and Ash is about to cross a billion dollars. The domestic box office is lagging a bit behind Way of Water’s, but not disastrously. The international numbers seem to be keeping up. It’ll make less, but it’s still an open question whether it’ll land around two billion.

That conformity gate thing should worry Netflix and the Duffers. They’re relying on goodwill in the audience to bring viewers back for their spinoffs after they expected the story to be resolved, and it seems that they did worse than Game of Thrones season 8. At least GoT viewers could accept that the season happened.

Avatar: Fire and Ash will do well, but less well than the others. Current estimates are that it will land somewhere in or under the $1.8 billion range.

Markiplier’s Iron Lung movie adaptation made nearly $18 million in its opening weekend. With a budget under $3 million, it’s already a big success.

Not sure yet. It has a decently spread out release, but it isn’t playing everywhere. My local theater isn’t carrying it.

I’ve finally seen Iron Lung, and I enjoyed it a lot. Markiplier put in a strong performance as the lead.

Hm. I’d heard the second acts drags out.

That’s a matter of perspective. A lot happens during act 2, and most of it is set up that gets paid off later. Act 3 couldn’t be as punchy without the groundwork.
