Gilbert Gottfried has died.

Now that Chris Chibnall is off Dr. Who, and Sony is bankrolling it, it’s appearing more and more likely that Chibnall’s run will be decanonized. Even Chibnall himself recently said that he expects Russell T Davies to ignore his retcons going forward.

Netflix’s stock dropped 35% after news that they had lost 200,000 subscribers in Q1. Their own projections are forecasting a further 2 million lost customers in Q2.

Power Rangers Dino Fury was listed as one of Netflix’s top ten most viewed kids shows. I guess they’re doing something right. I hope they aim a little higher in quality in the future.

Ray Liotta died. He was the voice of Tommy Vercetti in GTA Vice City, and was in several movies.

Ezra Miller is back in the news. This time for grooming. He met this girl when she was 12 (he was 23) and flew her out to him several times when she was an underage teen. She’s become a college dropout and a druggie since meeting him. He controls what name she goes by, and he’s decided her sexual identity. Her open letter decrying her family reads like she’s a braiwashing victim.

Okay, that seems relatively benign.

JJ Abrams is basically finished at Warner and HBO. In 2019, he signed a huge contract with Warner, and got a $250 million forward. He took that money and put it into his own company, his own podcast, and made projects for Apple, Disney, Marvel Comics, and Paramount. He hasn’t produced a thing for Warner yet, and the only show he had been working on for them was delayed and had a bloated $200 million budget.

He definitely will. He’ll likely get a fourth Star Trek movie out of Paramount because he’s “freed up”. But Zaslav is cleaning house at Warner, possibly in preparation to flip it in a few years. It’s actually funny how many things are getting axed there right now.

Even if you’re right and he does get axed from Warner, I doubt this is the last we’ll hear of him. Some Blackrock investment and Jar Jar Abrams will be right back to ruining your favourite movies elsewhere.
 
Maybe he’ll handle the Paramount John Halo show, they’re already struggling to think of how they can make that show even more insulting to fans, why not consult and expert?

Ghostbusters is returning as a franchise. I knew there was an animated series coming, but now there are going to be games, a Dark Horse comic series, and two more movies, one of which is animated. The 2016 movie is being ignored by the new material.

I thought the 2016 characters were going to be in a timeline thingy in the comics. Like, they wouldn’t be characters, but they’d be listed as having existed.
