The character designs are sticking out to me. In Sonic Boom, the bandages and such were meant to evoke desert nomads, since the game was originally supposed to involve a big open world with a lot of travel. They were supposed to look like poor, nomadic underdogs. And Eggman’s buttoned-up military officer look was supposed to draw a contrast with them by making him look richer.
This one has Sonic and Tails wearing expensive looking, manufactured first-world stuff. Almost like future Nike gear. And Eggman’s looking pretty blue collar, with his wife beater under an open jacket.

Sonic Prime’s synopsis has me doubting. I’m getting sick of everything being a multiverse.
Sonic Prime is described as a “high octane adventure” following Sonic and his race to save a “strange new multiverse”. The show is also described as a “journey of self-discovery and redemption.” Accordingly, the show takes place in the same settings seen in the Sonic games and will feature Modern Sonic.

Movie was good.
I especially liked the end credits sequence.
Tails is so cute. I hope he gets more to do in the sequels.

The first movie was pretty bland. It was a big step forward for video game movies, but you can tell a big studio was behind it. Keep everything grounded, keep a consistent focus on the human characters, the fact that they had hunan characters at all. The ideal Sonic movie I would want would be animated and take place on Sonic’s own world, with all those characters, not a bunch of new ocs. The first film is enjoyable,it never acts like it hates it’s own source like other live action/animation movies seem to do. Sonic has a decent voice and his look and animation are good. Jim Carrey as Robotnik steals the show, it’s a different take on the character, being far more manic than previous incarnations, but Carrey makes it work.
