Probably for the same reason no spellcheck program I’ve ever interacted with has recognized the world “teleporter” in spite of the word being in common use for at least 40 years. The one I’m using RIGHT NOW has it underlined in red. And come to think of it, I’m almost certain that I’ve added it to the program’s dictionary before.

Narcissists have this thing where they think that putting on a thick, fake accent to pronounce foreign words is impressive, and not an immediate red flag that the person you’re dealing with is an asshole of the unlikable variety (which is a very important distinction to make).

Tommy Lee Jones is 75 but he looks like he’s a thousand years old.  

 
By the way, I had to try 30 different websites for that picture because that one particular picture of him would refuse to load in preview. Every other picture of him works perfectly except that one that looks so old whatever algoreithm this site uses refuses to load it.

I just wrote an entire page about the symbolism of apples in ancient Greece.
 
I’m having fun with this book. It’s two books in one. First you read the story, and then at the end there’s an introduction to Greek drama and Ohio history.

People like that are such tools. And of course the standard is completely one-sided. They don’t expect foreigners to adopt a thick American/English accent when speaking English words, but you’re insensitive if you don’t say Pokieston.
