If a person cannot fart because of intestinal blockage or because he’s holding in for too long, he still can release methane, aka fart gas by burping.  
That’s why sometimes you can feel a burning sensation on your throat, mouth and nose when you burp.

on my walk I went down a street half of which smelled like weed the other half smelled like thousand year old jizz.
