Something that I have heard time and time again in some circles is that most CGI heavy movies try to avoid bright colors and lit up areas to keep the CGI from looking too noticeable and it still wouldn’t surprise me if it choices like that was due to this reason. Unless the movie was aiming to be Tim Burton esque or something.

Tim Burton would’ve been perfect for this movie. At times it had a very Big Fish feel.

I think Roo and Kanga turned out the best in terms of appearance.

Owl and Rabbit are odd ones, since they were going for realistic animals’ designs. Rabbit probably should’ve been lighter, he’s yellow in the cartoons. Owl doesn’t resemble his original look, much, but he is pretty expressive in Christopher Robin, and combined with his voice he’s recognizable enough.
Brad Garret does Eeyore’s voice, it’s deep and monotone, which works, but there’s a recognizable lilt on his voice that can be a tad distracting.

Tigger is a trip. He’s the most faithful design, by a lot, but his coloration is so off that I straight out didn’t recognize him at first. I don’t like what they did with Rabbit. He looks straight out of the godawful Netflix Watership Down miniseries.

The original animated adaptation wasn’t exactly vibrant, itself. They worked it so that the bleak fall countryside came across sort of like Calvin and Hobbes’ environments did. Not always lush, but at least adventuresome.

The new one just looks dreary. If you told me that was a psychological horror, and he was haunted by those things that may or may not be real, I could buy it.

Glorified Alvin and the Chipmocks modern reboot vibes anyone? Though I imagine it’ll be better than that at least.

Too me it feels not like horror but has a strong sadness to it. Like they overdosed on sentimentality to bittersweet but the bitter side took a trip melancholy.

I think at the end of a show’s run, and and the only thing people care about in cartoon was little girls kissing and mention nothing else, it was very shallow to begin with.

Still doesn’t help the creator looked a lot like Amity, even this the brown roots - until people started to look deeper and she made her have purple hair. What’s with modern showrunners created a self-insert to then go after the underage main character? No matter how you look at it, it’s a little weird.

It just feels like most only care about the show and finale, because it validated their porn folder much like another show, I’d bet they would have said it sucked if they didn’t kiss at the end - and they’ll most likely demand more like a movie as it’s never enough because they just can’t get enough loli lesbians despite saying they despite that word.

I didn’t care for Chip N Dale movie to be honest…but then I learned about Bobby Driscoll and then I saw what happened with Peter Pan here and then I cringed.

What the heck… Oh, not Disney.

Well, normally I could simply care less on dark reimaginings like this, but Whinny the Pooh I have such a high childhood innocence with that it makes me honestly a little sick. Not that I consider the people doing this evil or would be whining for to be canceled though.

This is happening because the book version of Winnie the Pooh fell out of copyright. This is a sneak preview of what could happen to Steamboat Willy starting in 2024.

Would you consider things like Voltron, Star Blazers, and Samurai Pizza Cats to be anime, or a western cartoon? Saban, Sunwagon and other companies took Japanese works and recut and dubbed them to be a unique product, with little resemblance to the original. Voltron was actually made from two unrelated anime, and had a cosmology that was bigger than the sum of its parts.

I consider anything that was animated in Japan and originally intended for primarily Japanese audiences to be anime.
Parody dubs and composite shows I’d still consider anime.
