I think it’s less that they evolved to like something only humans can create, and more that cats of all sizes have an instinct to want to get in and rest in very tight and secure spaces. We humans just happened to develop the best ones for them.

The Black one in the first picture is Zoey,the white one is Dot and the little black one with the extra toes is Willie. The stripey one is her brother,Tumble.

My new kitten,Angie. She’s getting over a bad cold. She likes watching tv. She watched some of Power Rangers Lost Galaxy,but lost interest. Just now she seemed very interested in Monty Python. She fell asleep,though.

No picture is available, but I spent the afternoon doing some basic IT stuff for someone, and got to see the fat tortoiseshell cat his kids left behind when they moved out. She is a very dark tortie with just a few brown dots on her back, a white dot on her chest, and one white paw. She seems somewhat overfed. Tortoiseshell cats are widely described as having bad attitudes, but she hasn’t gotten the word. She’s playful, affectionate, and pretty mellow.

My second cat was a tortoiseshell. She was very friendly,but got a little grumpy in Old age.
