Assuming that was an experience of a lifetime, but now it’s complicated for another concert with this pandemic and stuck in our homes.

Yeah, it was an insanely good show. He played the entirety of my favorite album “Animals,” and played an outstanding “welcome to the machine.” Top 3 best concerts I’ve ever been too.

I remember that the 2011 cd edition of Wish You Were Here contains an additional cd of bonus tracks, 2 them are early versions of Sheep (Raving And Drooling) and Dogs (You’ve Got To Be Crazy) played in Wembley 1974.

Playing Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning (seriously, who thought that name was a good idea?) has, for some reason, reminded me that the Ar Tonelico franchise desperately needs a PC port. In keeping, I’ve been listening to some of its better music and trying to become more fluent in its fully constructed languages.
 
Example song: EXEC_COSMOFLIPS. as performed in the standard Hymmnos dialect. Think Klingon, but for weebs.

How is it? I really liked Amalur in spite of its rougher edges and bugs (inventory bugs were particularly frustrating). Did they polish it properly or just crank up the graphics?
 
Also this is my new jam. God, but everything about this game is awesome.

Same old Amalur: all the old bugs, with some new ones. But hey! Now we get all of the trash Lv.1 DLC weapons and armor as well as the pre-order and demo Twists for free while waiting on the upcoming expansion! Though at least there’s no more EA account requirement, slightly better level scaling, and a very hard mode.
 
To stay on topic, Endless Legend is a severely underrated 4X and has some of the most beautiful ambient music (in keeping with the rest of the Endless franchise).

Well that’s unfortunate, though I don’t recall needing an EA account when I played it. And I’m actually playing Endless Space 2 right now. Just resettled Auriga as the Vaulters.
 
I don’t know what this piano program is called but I’ve seen a few people use it and it usually sounds pretty good.

As someone who has several hours in Endless Legend, can confirm the music is pretty top-notch. Also I believe the music in both the Endless Space and Endless Legend games are done by FlyByNo, so look them up if you like it.
 
For a total shift in musical gears, here’s something quite loud and quite gorgeous.

I remember watching a drunk driving PSA on YouTube where they used this Song in it.

You might like FlyByNo’s work on Dungeon of the Endless as well; feels like they took some of the synthy embellishments from their tracks for Legend and Space and turned them into entire tracks, making it feel decidedly FlyByNo and Endless universe, yet still new.
 
Now for something closer to home (and completely insane to go with this killer headache I’m rocking), have some Dog of Wisdom - BLUE Version (bonus points for turning on English (not United States) subtitles while watching) and remember that this madness comes from the same artist that once produced and remixed pony fandom music.

Brutal as hell, but fun as fuck. Completely different type of game from the Endless 4X fare, but as a bonus, if you own Endless Legend you already have an expansion for Dungeon, on top of the 4 free DLC and 3 paid. To keep with the thread, have another wonderful, chill song from the game.

When I was a kid I always wanted to learn to play the violin. I never did learn. I had a crappy teacher. I did get pretty good at reading sheet music. The best I can do is an old piano program to get a rough idea of what these would sound like. The piece linked is probably the first piece of music I ever wrote, in 1999, called “Nova”. I sometimes use it as unofficial theme music for videos.
 
The piece below is “86%”. It’s an attempt at making music from numbers.

That’s pretty interesting. I think there must be some software that can create violin-like sound as well.
 
I never learned any instrument. But I did play with this awesome fractal music generator when I was younger, perhaps it was based on Mandelbrot sets. The results were pretty neat. Forget running it. I haven’t been able to find any evidence online that it actually ever existed.

Violin is a very difficult instrument to play. I can barely play Suzuki Book 2 songs decently.

Finale is one of the most common softwares for orchestal scores, MuseScore is also a open source alternative.

Update: I actually found it this time. The original site is long gone, but there was a copy of the program on this site with little description. It turns out it was called Gingerbread. It probably won’t run on recent versions, but I installed it in a Windows 2000 virtual machine.
