Tell me about. Growing up my mother was obsessed with patchouli and linen. You know: the two worst “good” scents. The former is fucking disgusting and the latter actually made it difficult for me to breathe. I regularly had to retreat to my room because I was suffocating in the living room.

In my country, “Patchouli” (Pronounced as “Pachulí”) is slang for cheap, stinky perfumes.  
Yeah, the crappy kind that really put the “Fumes” in “Perfumes.”

It’s an old ass slang word from our grandma’s time. A modern day equivalent would be comparing a crappy cologne or perfume with Axe spray, which is the default Flaite smell.
