Correction: An earlier version of this story incorrectly stated that XRVision facial recognition software identified Antifa members among rioters who stormed the Capitol Wednesday. XRVision did not identify any Antifa members. The Washington Times apologizes to XRVision for the error.

You may have a point with that, though, legal or not it certainly is bad for public record if all tweets that drove the news just disappeared

As concerned as I am about the dems, I’m more worried about big tech doing it of their own volition. They already control most of the information flow, and it’s not like they haven’t already been censoring based on political lines.

Apparently G&A are already axing some social media service for maintaining a free speech policy, but I haven’t looked too much into it.

Twitter’s been generous about his conduct there, or else they’d probably have canned his ass even sooner, but their patience was limited. He’s not above their rules when he uses the site. Nothing as illegal as you claim.

Adding on, I find it more than a little concerning that big tech is so quick to start decrying the ‘spread of disinformation’ and ‘making steps to limit it’ after one riot by the right, while they said nothing about the years of riots and disinformation by BLM and antifa.

How much corporate cock do you suck, coward anon bot? Why not get a real account here bot?

July 2019 2nd Circuit Court affirmed a 2018 New York court’s decision that Trump’s twitter account is a public forum, a ruling with the Supreme Court later affirmed.

Public forum. Trump’s twitter account, as the product of a government official performing government business, is official government records. Access to government records on a public forum are governed by the Presidential Records Act of 1978, not corporate terms of service that change daily and are enforced selectively. No matter how much Xi Jinping is paying you to say or believe otherwise, from January 20 2017 until the day he leaves office, Trump’s tweets are public records that are owned by the public, not Twitter, and as they only exist on Twitter’s servers there is no other means for the public to access the records that they own. Twitter cannot legally restrict access to public records that they do not own, ergo what they are doing is illegal.

No go back to China.

Aside from federal law that makes his tweets public record, three court cases that have affirmed that decision, Twitter’s own TOS themselves admittedly do not apply to military or government entities. That’s why the Ayatolla and Chinese officials can get away with saying whatever they want, because as government officials the rules literally do not apply to them.

From what I’ve heard on the news (which ran though its cycle four fucking times at the doctor’s office before I got fed up and turned off the TV) the bill legalizing marijuana is already sitting on Bucktooth Murphy’s desk for some time and he hasn’t signed it.

We put him in office for one reason, and voted in a state-wide referendum again in November to reaffirm that one reason, and he’s just sitting on it.

Give us our fucking weed already!

Yeah, it’s “stakeholder capitalism” that’s the true threat; speaks the language of social justice as a means of control. The dance of the politicians and the corporate establishment in various reforms in the name of justice that ultimately empower those two classes. Upper parts of the far left are going to be brought in while the ground components of groups like antifa and the like will be ignored or dismantled as well if they play their cards right. They are playing with fire

It’s 2021, you wait and see, Trump is going to hear about the altboorus and say “that’s a good idea!” and launch Trumpbooru. It’ll be used in practice as some horrible abomination of facebook and twitter with his tech crew having tried to amateurishly twist the interface to that purpose, but signs of it’s original use will remain, especially in the early release, with the default avatars still being ponies.

Probably for brownie points with google or whoever. The silencing of the right is beginning to kick into gear now that the dems control everything.

On a slightly-related note, fuck I’m sick of everyone making politics out to be a black and white issue. I don’t know how many artists I enjoyed have posted something along the lines of ‘if you’re not left-wing stop supporting me, fuck off and die’ these last few days. Separating art from the artist is easy enough, but I find it increasingly hard to give a damn about their wishes. It also makes me worried that the center or right-wing artists I like may get purged in the near future.
