They either don’t realize just how toxic manufacturing (and disposal) of batteries is, or think that the accountability-free production plants will _magically have the waste filtered and the batteries recycled (spoiler: right now they’re being dumped in landfills, just in south asia instead of usa and europe).

To be fair, there was a Muslim barber who was mistaken for Santa Claus because of his beard. Christmas is also becoming more popular in Muslim Iraq.

So honest question: why is the rest of the world supposed to give a flying fuck what Russia does with Ukraine? It’s not like it’s Taiwan, who produces vitally important technology. I’ve never once heard anyone say “oh no! If Ukraine falls then the Russians will control the [RESOURCE/PRODUCT] market!” It always seems to just come down to “WE CAN’T LET ‘EM HAVE IT BECAUSE WE JUST CAN’T!”. With the way the rest of the world freaks out at every hint of a threat levied against them, the place is becoming the Israel of Europe. Which is pretty ironic if you know jack shit about 20th century history.

Ukraine is anti-Russian catspaw. Plus it’s cheaper to live in than Russia itself, which will obviously end if it’s annexed, and allows things Russia doesn’t (and vice versa).  
So yeah, it IS “we’ll lose certain markets”, they’re just markets most people don’t think about.

In Pakistan, a bakery sparked an outcry because its workers refused to print “Merry Christmas” on a cake. It is condemned online as discrimination against the Christian minority.
