I don’t even recall any of that stuff. I recall thinking the game definitely needed a tutorial, though.
And don’t feel bad. I only know all this from about 700 hours of experience.

@Officer Hotpants
I’ve had the game for a few years and I still have no idea what I’m doing.
You need to look through your nation’s focus tree.
There will be focuses to remove your nations problems. Things like Equestria’s stagnation, or some others have poverty, illiteracy and so on. Those give huge penalty to research and construction.
There will be some focuses to get immediately civilian factories when complete. Or that will take over factories from civilian use.
There are also always focuses for research bonuses. For research, first thing is computers as they give research speed. And in research there is an industry tab. Construction I, II, etc. will give extra construction speed.
As for divisions, I prefer to wait till I have built up a surplus of equipment. And then make them in groups of 24 since the generals are effective up to that many.

I tried to get into the game before but I clearly didn’t understand what I was doing. I spent… however long I was at it waiting for a factory and a new unit to finish being built while the rest of the world took off around me right from the get go.
Yes.
The percentage is how much the country contributed to their side.
The number or range of numbers under the green pony is divisions.
Then under factory is number of factories.
And under the red skull is losses.
K is thousand. M is million.
Oh. I don’t actually know how to read it. Though with that context, I suppose the red thing is suppose to be a skull.
How unbalanced the losses are. (It’s from using nukes.)
