Names most ponies use: Static, Sparky Gender: Male Sexuality: Gay Parents: Applejack & Rainbow Dash (Soarin’ as surrogate father) Species: Pegasus Talents/Abilities: Speedy and agile flyer. Can feel the static and currents in the air through his feathers. Skilled weather predictor and manipulator. Shortcomings: Cocky. ADHD. Impatient. Very concerned about his “image”. History:
After watching Applejack deal with pregnancy the birth of little Apple Blossom, Rainbow Dash’s fears of childbirth ebbed considerably. When Blossom was two, AJ and Dashie agreed that they wanted a second child and this time Dashie wanted to carry the foal. Once again they called upon Soarin’ to be the father. Though he wasn’t a legal guardian, the stallion had grown quite fond of Apple Blossom and agreed on the condition that this would be his last “donation”. Nine months and 13 hours of difficult labor and Static was born. From day one, the colt was a kicking, screaming ball of energy and feathers. Healthy as a horse and unable to keep still even when sleeping. Regardless, Dashie was incredibly proud of her little crotch spawn.
As Static aged AJ started to notice that his attention span wasn’t developing like Apple Blossom’s was and began to grow concerned. Dashie could see nothing wrong with the colt and made a point to shrug off AJ’s worries, but the Earth Pony was insistent. Eventually Dashie agreed to take Static to be tested. The doctor confirmed AJ’s worried and diagnosed Static with ADHD and suggested prescribing medication to help him focus and calm down. This time it was Applejack who disagreed with the doctor. Dashie was unsure at first, but after doing some research she and AJ were able to figure out ways to teach Static and help him turn this disability into an advantage. They both became very active in Static’s school work and through a lot of effort and encouragement, the colt was able to flourish. His sister, Apple Blossom was one of his biggest supporters and she, more than anyone else, was instrumental in teaching him how to read. The siblings were always close, but after that they were inseparable, despite being total opposites. He befriended Pink Lady and Grey Gale easily and in his teen years he was crushing hard on Neon Blitz (the coolest colt in school in his eyes). Neon ditched school and left Ponyville before Static could ever get up the courage to approach him though, so those feelings remained hidden.
Being the son of two Wonderbolts, one of which was one of the Elements of Harmony, Static had quite a bit to live up to. As soon as he was old enough he enrolled in the Wonderbolt Acadamy, alongside GG, and was a star flyer. He made top marks and was personally asked if he’d like to be put on the reserves list. He declined. All he’d wanted to do was prove that he was one of the best flyers, but as far as his career was concerned he loved his job as a weather pony and wasn’t about to give it up for the chance to work at the same job as his mom. He took quite a bit of pride in turning the Wonderbolts down and takes every opportunity to tell the story to anyone who hasn’t heard it yet, much to the annoyance of those who have.
